At OneSteel, we believe in providing career opportunities and helping our people to manage their careers. As such, all vacant positions are advertised internally. We have a great track record in internal promotions, with approximately 60% of executive and senior manager roles filled internally over the past 2 years.

The OneSteel Talent and Leadership Council comprising OneSteel’s most senior managers, drive our succession and talent management processes across our diverse businesses. Our succession and talent management processes successfully identify and develop people to be ready for key roles within OneSteel.

OneSteel provides development to all employees. This can take various forms depending on the role, from on-the-job training to nationally accredited qualifications. In addition, OneSteel provides many development programs for leaders to grow their professional and leadership capability.

OneSteel also provides study assistance to approved employees to complete a degree, diploma, certificate or post-graduate qualification.

Our innovative YoungSteelers program is specifically targeted at high potential professionals who are beginning their careers at OneSteel. The program provides participants with the opportunity to work on a Company-wide project, to interact with both peers and senior managers and to understand how to manage their career within OneSteel and to develop the competencies important for success at OneSteel
