END USE APPLICATIONS

Transport & Storage: Railway

Be it bridges, stations or service buildings, steel is the ideal choice of construction material for railway structures. Railway bridges, particularly those with shorter spans, can be constructed very economically through a combination of using composite welded beams and reinforced concrete. Railway stations have traditionally been built with steel and continue to be built in steel because of the economy and aesthetics of steel buildings. For rail maintenance and service buildings, steel is the preferred building material because of its spanning ability and good strength to weight ratio.
Railway Wheels and Axles - OneSteel Rail & Forge produces forged and rolled railway wheels, forged railway axles and fully assembled wheelsets to international standards for all classes of rollingstock.
